About
Mental Health Care.
Siegel’s research explores the relationship between autonomy and decision-making ability in the context of psychiatric illness. He has published articles and given national presentations on subjects including patient decision-making capacity, the ethical challenges of invasive psychiatric neuromodulation, pediatric euthanasia, and diagnostic reservation for Borderline Personality Disorder. Dr. Siegel also has an interest in applying behavioral economics to mental health and homeless services policy. In 2015, he founded StreetChange, LLC, in collaboration with the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania. StreetChange is a mobile crowdfunding application that connects homeless panhandlers and donors with service providers in a manner than incentivizes lasting positive change.
